Kybella is an FDA-approved deoxycholic acid injection used to eliminate small pockets of fat on the face and body.
During your appointment, deoxycholic acid will be injected into the subcutaneous fat layer to dissolve fat cell membranes and destroy them. The body will eliminate dead and damaged fat cells through the lymphatic system. Over the next few months, you will notice a slimmer chin until the excess fat is completely gone.
Results will be revealed gradually over 3-6 months after injection.
Once deoxycholic acid destroys the fat cells, they will not return to the injected area. Therefore, the effects of your Kybella treatment are permanent!
Treatment numbers will vary depending on the treatment size and area of the body. Your KOCO injector will advise you on a course of treatment after your consultation. Some patients are happy after only one Kybella treatment, while others desire more.
The treatment area may swell considerably. Discomfort and pain can be handled with ice and over-the-counter pain medication. Plan to rest for the first 24 hours after treatment to reduce swelling.
